That
Woman is a Success . . .

who loves life
and lives it to the fullest;
who has discovered and
shared
the strengths and talents
that are uniquely her own;
who puts her best into each
task
and leaves each situation
better than she found it;
who seeks and finds
that which is beautiful
in all people and all things;
whose heart is full of love
and warm with compassion;
who has found joy in living
and peace within herself.
~ Barbara J. Burrow ~
I'm
Just a Woman . . .
I'm just a stay-at-home Mom, and my success is very small
I care for my children and pick them up when they fall
I mend their wounds and help them heal
I wash their clothes and prepare their meals.
I tuck them in bed and kiss them goodnight
Calm them and hold them when their dreams give them fright
I'm there when they awake to welcome the new day
And I take them to the park to laugh and play.
I'm just a single Mom, and I
don't claim success
I work during the day and I don't try to impress
When my workday is done I come home to care
For my latch-key children who wait for me there.
Meals are prepared with
laundry to do
I clean up the house before my long day is through
I play catch with the boys; do homework with the girls
Then fall into bed while my thoughts race and whirl.
I'm just an old Grandma with
nothing to do
I visit my neighbor who has come down with the flu
When my grandkids come by we bake cookies and bread
And I sew on their buttons with needle and thread.
I'm way past success; I've
never worked in my life
I was only a mother and devoted wife
I raised all my children with nurture and love
Now wait for God's calling from high up above.

The above woman are
all people I know, and it's for each of them that I dedicate this web
page. Too often success is thought of as how much money we've earned, what kind of position we've
held, or for which cause we have fought. In reality, each of
these woman are successes. All of them have become successful in what
they did. They are raising their children, reaching out to others, and most of
all, they have become all that they are. And with that, I say
they are more than "just" a woman. Kathy, Peggy and Mary, I
salute you!

"I Am Woman"
Performed by Helen Reddy
Peak Billboard position #1 for 1 week in 1972
-Words and Music by Helen Reddy and Ray Burton
I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back and pretend
Cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again.
Oh yes, I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained.
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong
I am invincible
I am woman .
You can bend but never break me
Cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
Cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul.
I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my loving arms across the land
But I'm still an embryo
With a long long way to go
Until I make my brother understand.
Oh yes, I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained.
If I have to I can face anything
I am strong
I am invincible
I am woman.
Oh, I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong.
