When tomorrow starts without me
and I'm not there to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me.
I'll wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you do this day
While thinking of the many things
we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me
as much as I love you
And each time that you think of me
I'll know you miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name
and took me by my hand.
And said my place was ready
in Heaven far above
And that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away
a tear fell from my eye
For all my life I'd always thought
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for
so much yet to do
It seemed almost impossible
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays
the good ones and the bad
I thought of all the love we shared
and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday
just even for a while
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
and hope to see you smile.
But then I fully realized
that this could never be
For emptiness and memories
would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things
I might miss come tomorrow
I thought of you and when I did
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through Heaven's gates
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled at me
from His great golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity
and all I've promised you
Today your life on earth is past
but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow
for today will always last
And since each day's the same day
there's no longing for the past.
But you have been so faithful
so trusting and so true
Though there were time you did some things
you knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
and now at last you're free
So won't you take my hand
and share eternity with me?"
So when tomorrow starts without me
don't think we're far apart
For every time you think of me
I'm right here . . . inside your heart.

** In Memory of Carol
Wallace **
I received this beautiful poem from a special
internet friend of mine who recently lost her mother to cancer. This poem
was found in the Draft folder of her mother's e-mail; perhaps saved by a
loving mother and wife to be found later as words of comfort for her husband, children
and grandchildren during their mournful period of loss and grief, and as a reminder
that she is always near.

Following are comments and a beautiful memorial poem
written by Jan Prieur, a friend of
Carol's:
"I miss you, Carol, think of
you often,
and it brings a smile to my face when I remember your sweet spirit."
What will people say?
It’s times like this I wonder…
What will people say?
If I’m not here tomorrow
And have gone far, far away.
I know what they’ll say about Carol
She surely passed the test
A friend to all and so it goes
She’s among the very best.
Friends and relatives, they will grieve
No eyes will be left dry
Though we thank God for the Miracle
All of us will cry.
Some didn’t get to say goodbye
Some didn’t get to say
You meant so very much to us
With each passing day.
To me you were a great lady
I’ll remember always “you”
Your great smile and precious grin
And all the kind things you do.
You cared for each one of us
You had a loving way
To meet and greet and chat with us
Always a kind word to say.
I don’t remember what we said
When last I talked to you
I hope I said something very nice
God . . . if I only knew.
I should have said let’s take the time
And chat here for awhile
To share a great Tea Party
So you would laugh and smile.
But you are gone and I am torn
What can I say just now?
I want to turn back the clock
I just do not know how.
All I can do is pray now
That you knew in my heart
I thought the world of you, Carol
Right from the very start.
You were a true friend, Carol
A caring heart for sure
A warmth beyond all else
Your tenderness was pure.
You set the example for all of us
And surely also me
I want you to know that I’ll miss you
That you can plainly see.
What will people say, Carol?
When I am gone away?
I hope they think of me fondly
For that I will surely pray.
I want to be a light like you
In every sense a friend.
God help me to be kind today
And ‘till the very end.
What will people say, Carol?
What will people say?
She loved life and gave us joy
Until this darkest day.
Let us be a friend like you
That we may also bring
Happiness with cheer and smiles
Until we, like you, meet our King.
God Bless you, Carol Wallace.
