We lost brothers and sisters, daughters and sons
Friends and classmates in a senseless act
Students and teachers whose lives were cut short
Forever leaving a devastating impact.

Families are grieving, hearts have been broken
As we mourn the lives of those we loved
Through heartache and tears we ask questions why
While lifting our arms in prayer to God above.

Their lives were cut short, but the memories remain
And we'll cherish them all and hold them close to our heart
We will remember their smiles and remember their laugh
As we face the years ahead that we are apart.
We must celebrate their lives and the loved we shared
For we know they are embraced in God's loving arms
He has given them peace in His heavens above
Where they will always be safe and away from all harm.
He will send us the same peace for the ache in our soul
And for the anguished loss that we all feel
Our lives will go on; our sorrow will pass on
And somewhere in time our broken hearts will be healed.

"Tears In Heaven"
Recorded by Eric Clapton
Lyrics & Music by Eric Clapton & Will Jennings
Written in 1991 after the death of Eric Clapton's 4 year old son

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven.

I must be strong and carry on
Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven.

I'll find my way through night and day
Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.

Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knee
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please.

Beyond the door there's peace I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven.

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Would you feel the same
If I saw you in heaven.

I must be strong and carry on
Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven,
