Just
a
young
girl
born
many
years
ago
To
a
mother
who
died
giving
her
life
Her
father
forlorn
had
to
board
her
out
Because
of
the
times;
no
money;
no
wife.
Grandpa
and
Grandma
raised
this
young
girl
They
did
the
very
best
that
they
could
do
The
little
girl
grew
up
to
become
a
lady
fair
Without
the
mother
she
never
knew.
And
then
one
day
she
met
a
special
man
His
tender
voice
sang
a
song
to
her
heart
She
said,
"Daddy
please,
I
love
him
so.
Give
your
blessings
so
we
are
never
apart."
Her
Daddy
said
yes,
and
they
were
wed
This
young
man
and
the
lady
fair
They
began
their
new
life
as
husband
and
wife
And
three
children
she
did
bear.
When
the
last
of
the
three
was
only
a
year
This
special
man
sang
his
very
last
song
Leaving
the
lady
fair
and
her
innocent
three
Alone
in
the
world
to
learn
to
be
strong.
The
lady
fair
was
determined
to
survive
And
raise
her
three
all
alone
on
her
own
She
did
the
best
she
could
with
all
that
she
knew
To
provide
her
three
with
a
happy
home.
Although
the
lady
fair
loved
all
of
her
three
Her
sad
heart
was
without
a
song
In
her
lonely
search
she
tried
to
replace
The
special
man
who
was
forever
gone.
It
was
an
endless
search,
but
she
continued
on
To
find
someone
for
comfort
and
love
She
was
just
a
young
lady all
alone
Who
deserved
heavenly
blessings
above.
There
were
times
she
remembered
very
old
songs
It
was
then
that
the
teardrops
would
start
By
the
gaze
in
her
eyes
it
seemed
she
could
still
hear
.
.
.
the
man
singing
songs
to
her
heart.

It
seems
like
we
often
have
to
wait
until
we
are
much
older
to
finally
understand
what
we
couldn't
understand
while
we
were
young.
The
lady
above
was
my
mother-in-law,
and
although
I
loved
her
very
much,
I
was
not
able
to
understand
all
that
she
was
going
through
at
the
time.
Now
that
I
am
older; closer
to
her
age
at
the
time,
I
can
begin
to
know
and
understand.
She
was
a
very
young
lady,
left
with
three
young
children
to
raise
during
the
war
and
post-war
period, and
I
admire
the
job
she
did.
I
also
believe
she
was
forever
searching
for
a
replacement
of
the
man
with
the
tender
voice.
I
know
she
is
with
him
today,
and
I
believe
that
he
is
once
again singing
beautiful
songs
to
her
heart.
This
page
is
dedicated
to
the
lady fair.

"Mexicali Rose"
Mexicali Rose, I'm leaving, don't feel blue
Mexicali Rose, stop grieving, I love you.
When the dove of love is winging through the blue
All the castles you've been building will come true.
Mexicali Rose, stop crying
I'll come back to you some sunny day
Every night you'll know that I'll be pining
Every hour a year while I'm away.
Dry those big brown eyes and smile dear
Banish all those tears and please don't sigh
Kiss me once again and hold me
Mexicali Rose, goodbye.
