Mistletoe and holly wreaths
Candles glowing bright
Christmas trees with trim galore
And tiny twinkling lights

Christmas cards to cherished friends
With wishes for the year
Old-time family gatherings
With those you hold most dear

Carolers singing Christmas carols
Their music so very sweet
Caps and mittens, bundled warm
As they walk the snowy streets

Cookies shaped like tiny bells
Pies and Christmas bread
Turkey roasting in the pan
Cranberry sauce so red

These are old traditions
Practiced every year
Handed down from families old
As Christmas day comes near

But these are only symbols
To remind us of that day
When Christ appeared as a babe
And in a manager lay

A humble birth; He became a King
To redeem us of our sins
Christ our Lord was born to bring
Peace on earth, goodwill to men

Carry on the old traditions
And from them never stray
For they are warm reminders
Of that Special Christmas Day!
