During
the
spring
and
summer
months, Mother
Nature
presents
many
such
performances
in
the
form of
bellowing
thunder
and
fireball
lightning.
As
she
presents
these
rare,
but
beautiful
presentations, she
always
receives
jubilant
reviews
for
her
visual
and
acoustical
sound
effects.
It
is
always
an
honor to
view
these
performances,
with
most
of
them
being
an
unforgettable
experience.
On
one
particular
night,
as
Mother
Nature
was
gathering
her
cast
of
characters,
a
loud
rumble
of the
heavenly
kettledrums
symbolized
the
beginning
of
a
command
performance. This
was
the
signal to
scurry
for
a
bottle
of
wine,
two
glasses,
and
a
drive
to
the
lake
for
the
appropriate
thunderstorm balcony.
Upon
arriving
on
a
hill
overlooking
the
lake,
the
cork was
popped
on
the
bottle
of
wine, and
two
glasses
were
poured.
It
was
time
to
settle
back
for
the
beginning
of
a
paramount
exhibition.
While
waiting
for
the
performance
to
begin,
Mr.
Melancholy
Moon
peeked
in
and
out
through
the clouds
as
though
playing
hide
and
seek
with
the
stars.
He
cast
a
shimmering
glitter
across
the
lake each
time
he
appeared.
The
water
waved
to
and
fro
as
though
under
his
spell.
Her
dramatic appearance
demanded
our
undivided
attention.
Theo
Thunder,
her
leading
man,
was
heard
in
the distance
with
a
blast
as
loud
as
a
lion's
roar.
A
vibrating
rumble
immediately
followed
while
shaking the
earth
beneath
the
wheels
of
the
car.
As
Theo
approached
the
center
of
the
stage,
the
talented stars
of
this
theatrical
event
exchanged
visual
and
vocal
arias.
On
this
particular
evening,
Lily
was
especially
radiant.
Her
electrical
flashes
opened
the velvet sky curtains
for
the
premier
appearance
of
the
Raindrop
Chorus.
Lily
stepped
back
as
the
Chorus
filled the
entire
heavenly
stage.
Their
costumes
were
delightful.
Each
member
was
dressed
in
a
different color,
and
were
many
shapes
and
sizes
that
lightened
the
entire
sky.
They
performed
a
dynamic dance
entitled
"Rain
Cascade,"
which
made
astral
sounds
on
the
roof
of
the
car.
We
toasted
our glasses
to
this
beautiful
array
of
dancers
as
the
dance
dropped
nourishing
water
into
nearby
lakes and
streams.
As
the
Raindrop
Chorus
continued
their
methodical
dance,
Lily
once
again
appeared
center
stage amidst
a
brilliant
flash
of
light.
We
counted,
"One,
two,
three,
four,
five."
Boom!
Theo
made
his boisterous
appearance
and
was
standing
at
Lily's
side.
Lily
and
Theo,
veteran
performers,
have
appeared
together
for
centuries,
with
each
performance more
exceptional
than
the
last.
I
never
tire
of
seeing
these
two
stars
interact
with
each
other,
and I'm
sure
they
will
continue
performing
together
for
centuries
to
come.
Their
unique
interaction
with each
other
is
irreplaceable.
As
the
two
stars
danced
and
sang
together
in
a
dueling
exchange
of
blaze
and
bellows,
the
Raindrop Chorus
escalated
their
coordinating
movements
into
swelling
sheets
of
rain.
The
entire
stage
became a
display
of
sensational
motions
with
turbulent
intensity.
Mother
Nature
had
chosen
her
most
gifted artists
for
this
night's
performance,
as
each
performer
was
a
phenomenal
talent.
As
the
presentation began
to
subside,
the
entire
cast
climatically
performed
the
renowned
dance,
"Thunder
Rolls."
The
performance
was
reaching
its
finale
when
Lily's
luster
began
to
diminish.
As
she
slowly disappeared
from
center
stage,
her
faint
light
became
as
dim
as
a
whisper.
Theo
continued
the
dance alone,
but
his
bellowing
roars
became
muffled
rumbles
in
the
absence
of
his
leading
lady.
He eventually
left
the
stage
to
join
Lily,
and
together,
the
two
stars
faded
into
the
horizon
hand
in
hand. The
Raindrop
Chorus
continued
their
dance
until
it
reached
an
ebb
and
softened
into
a
faint pitter-patter
heard
on
the
roof
of
the
car.
And
then
there
was
silence.
The
black
clouds
slowly
rolled
away.
In
their
absence,
Mr.
Moon
appeared,
and
motioned
for
the Star
Brigade
to
make
their
appearance.
At
his
signal,
the
Brigade
proudly
marched
across
the darkened
sky
to
their
assigned
posts.
When
each
star
had
reached
their
proper
position,
Mr.
Moon signaled
the
"Start
to
Twinkle"
command.
With
exact
precision,
the
entire
Brigade
began
to twinkle,
and
Mr.
Moon
nodded
his
head
in
approval.
In
a
final
tribute,
we
once
again
lifted
our glasses
for
a
toast
to
the
beautiful
event
we
had
just
experienced.
As
we
prepared
to
leave
we
gazed up
into
the
dark
moonlit
sky
and
saw
that
the
heavens
had
returned
back
to
normal, and
it
was time
to
go
home.
