When you're smiling, when you're smiling
The whole world smiles with you
Yes, when you're laughing, when you're laughing
Yes, the sun comes shining through.
But when you're crying, you bring on the rain
So stop your sighing, baby and be happy again
Yes, and keep on smiling, keep on smiling
And the whole world smiles with you.
The Importance of a Smile
"A SMILE costs nothing, but gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and none is so poor but that he can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business, and is the countersign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and is nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give."
Believed to be based on the writings of Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch
I recently heard
about MACS - "Make A Child Smile".
This is an organization that supports children
with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. MACS
is an established organization that was founded in
1998. Each
month new children are featured on the MACS web site,
and they provide a picture and biography of each
child. All they ask of us is to mail a cute card
to one of their Featured Kids of the Month to help
make a small, but courageous child smile. Please
click above for the link to their website. Thank you.
