Hello!

They call me "Smiley"

and I would like to tell you about a routine day in my life . . .

When she awoke this morning, I was there
as she heard the birds sing, and smelled the morning air.
She got ready for work and walked out the front door,
and passed me on to her neighbor on his way to the store.

Neighbor's day had started out wrong; he was feeling very unkind,
but when I was passed over he changed his mind.

While waiting in line at the check-out counter,
Neighbor passed me on to a young mom and her daughter.

Baby daughter was crying and young mom was weary,
but when I was passed, baby became happy and cheery.

Young mom was relieved and as baby started to laugh,
I was passed on again to the young grocery store staff.

The young grocery store boy was named Jerome,
and his mind had been on his troubles at home.

The little baby's laugh made him forget for a time,
and he passed me on to the next person in the line.

 The next person in line was an elderly man;
His wife had recently died and he felt all alone.

When Jerome passed me on, the man felt friendship and joy,
and as he left the store he passed me on to a young boy.

The young boy had failed his math test at school,
and was beginning to feel like the school-dunce fool.

But when I was passed on, he felt better inside,
and he passed me on to the cute girl at his side.

When the girl got home she remembered the fight
she and her mother had last night.

She went to her mom and said, "Mom, I'm sorry"
and she passed me on while saying, "Please forgive me"

When Mom awoke the next morning, I was there
as she heard the birds sing, and smelled the morning air . . . .

and my day began again . . .

"A Smile for You"

Smiling is infectious
you catch it like the flu
When someone smiled at me today
I started smiling too

I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him

I thought about that smile
then I realized its worth
A single smile, just like that
could travel round the earth

So, if you feel a smile begin
don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick
and get the world infected.
