Although Elvis was still the rock 'n roll King
A group of Beatles four entered the scene
From England they crossed the mighty seas
Singing
"The Yellow Submarine."

Johnny Cash performed at the prisons
Singing many songs of the blues
Telling tales of "Folsom Prison"
And the song about a "Boy Named Sue"!

We learned how to do the Twist
It was a dance we did without a strain
And then Chubby Checkers appeared once more
And said, "Let's Do The Twist Again!"

Roger Miller drank wine from a mason jar
Brought to school to make you glow
And when he "Chug A Lugged" the wine
It made him yell "Highty Ho!"

A sunny beach and "Yellow Polka Dot Bikinis"
Brought fun in the sun to play
Beach party games and volley ball
And "Surfing U.S.A."

Hollywood brought more glamour stars
To entertain from beginning to end
And we can never forget Marilyn Monroe
A sad and lonely "Candle In The Wind."

A bumbling chief inspector came on board
Jacques Clouseau was his name
His search for a missing diamond
Brought the "Pink Panther" glory and fame.

Motown brought "Baby Love" with
Diana Ross and the Supremes
And we can't forget that "The Beat Goes On"
As Sonny and Cher enter the scene.

A man in space? I can't believe that
And what more can we do?
Well, we'll just send him to the moon
And on the very next trip they can
"Fly Me To The Moon" with you!

And last but not least, the hippy days
"Make love and peace, not war!"
They changed our songs, changed our style
And changed the clothes we wore

Psychedelic colors went full stop
With tie-dyes merely a glance
As Woodstock crowds with rocking bands
Sang  "Give Peace a Chance"

The 60's left a colorful mark
With the messages they did send
But Bob Dylan's song says it all,
And the answer is just  "Blowing In The Wind."
