She is just a young girl out of her teens
With a full life ahead to plan for her dreams
But in a few moments as she opened the door
Her world was torn apart; innocent no more

She did not ask for it, nor does she know  why
She was the chosen victim of the one who walked by
She begged and pleaded and cried out for help
But her pleas were in vain and she could not help herself

These questions she asks as she remembers the horror
Was it all her fault because she opened the door
And where was God? Did He not hear her cry
As she was violated and abused by the one who walked by

Each night in her dreams she relives the fright
Of the violent crime that took place in the night
Will she ever again be my happy young friend
And how long will it take for this nightmare to end

This terrible ordeal happened to a young friend mine.  She had just turned 20 and  was horribly violated by someone; a stranger knocking at her door.  This young girl did not deserve what happened to her, nor was it her fault.  I still cannot get the picture of her out of my mind as she told me about this horrible  crime committed against her.

It has been several years since my  friend endured this terror, and with her strong faith in God and His healing powers and the support of a very special friend, she has moved on with her life.  She is now married to her special friend, and together they are building a life of tender love and a mutual respect for each other.  And while the memories of that terrible night will probably never completely leave, it was the prayers and support of everyone around her that helped her to rebuild her life.

"Ava Maria"
Performed by Deanna Durbin

Ave maria
Maiden mild
Oh, listen to a maiden’s prayer
For thou canst hear amid the wild
Tis thou, tis thou canst save amid dispair
We slumber safely till the morrow
Though we’ve by man outcast reviled
Oh, maiden see a maiden’s sorrow
Oh, mother hear a suppliant child

Ave maria
Ave maria, gratia plena
Maria, gratia plena
Maria, gratia plena
Ave, ave dominus
Dominus tecum
The murky cavern’s air so heavy
Shall breathe of balm if thou hast smiled
Oh, maiden hear a maiden pleading
Oh, mother hear a suppliant child
Amen, amen
