With heavy heart and tear-filled eyes,
I prayed to God above,
"Oh Father, please, hear my plea,
And let me feel Your love.

You promised life abundantly;
I feel an emptiness.
You promised joy and happiness;
I feel it less and less.

You said to me . . .

"Peace my child, I leave with you.
My peace I give you."

"But Father . . .

You promised answers to my prayers.
Did you even hear?
You promised comfort at all times,
But You didn't wipe my tear.

You promised You'd be at my side;
I feel so all alone.
You promised forgiveness for my sins;
Have they been atoned?"

"Peace my child, I leave with you.
My peace I give to you."

"My Lord, I question all your promises;
Their truth and validity.
They sound so good, they sound so true,
But are they meant for me?"

Again You answered me . . .

"Peace my child.
My peace I give to you."

So I shed my tears throughout the night,
And silent was my prayer.
My Father, with a bitter heart,
I said You didn't care.

Now all alone and on my own
I weakly stumbled through.
Life went on and changes were made,
As I did what I had to do.

And then one lonely peaceful night
. . ."Peaceful" night?

A Light came shining through.
I opened my heart, and let in the Light,
And received this gift from You.

You softly said . . .

"You weren't alone; I was there
Waiting patiently.
You needed tears, you needed pain
To restore your faith in Me.

I'll always be there to care for you.
And I'll do what I think best.
But as I gently guide your way,
My peace will give you rest.

Peace my child, I leave with you.
My peace I give to you."

John 14:27
New King James Version

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

For my nephew Ron, the youngest "wise old man" I've ever met. I'm sure you will never know just how much comfort and support  you gave me way back when . . .

Thanks . . . I love you.

"You'll Never Walk Alone"

When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone.
