Was it only a year
ago
that our world turned upside down;
when our eyes
watched in horror
as tall towers fell to the ground?
Has it really been
a year
since grief and pain filled our hearts,
while we tearfully watched in vain
as families and friends were torn apart?
It seems so long
ago, yet almost yesterday
that America was sent to her knees
in sincere and solemn prayer
with “God bless America” as her plea.
We watched the
terror take its toll
on families, our leaders and President
as they guided our nation in somber strength
amidst great turmoil and battlement.
On this
anniversary date, please display your pride
in a country that
will not bend
America will heal;
she will prevail
with strength and courage as the wounds mend.
We asked God to bless our soil,
and to shower us with His love
He answered our prayers with safety and peace
as He sent great
love through His
Light from
Above.

"Grief
and tragedy and
hatred are only
for a time.
Goodness,
remembrance and
love have no
end."
- President
George W. Bush -
September
14, 2001
It
was a year ago
when we watched
in horror as
thousands of
Americans died.
Americans at
work in towering
buildings,
Americans in
travel aboard
high-flying
airplanes, and
Americans
carrying out
their government
duties. The
shock and terror
brought us all
to our knees in
prayer. We
asked God to
bless our
wonderful
country, and we
asked God to
comfort those
who lost loved
ones.
And
now, one year
later we have
seen families
drawn together,
we have seen new
life in the
fatherless
children being
born. We have
made heroes of
our fire
fighters who
rightfully
deserve the
title. We
have watched
courageous
military people
being shipped
off to foreign
countries to
fight for our
safety and our
peace. We
display the red,
white and blue
with pride and
dignity, and we
have seen
thousands of
Americans who
volunteered
their time,
their money and
their blood in
our time of
disaster.
This
is the goodness,
remembrance and
love that
President Bush
was talking
about.
There is no end
to all that we
have given for
our country, and
for our fellow
Americans.
And, we can
also see that
God has blessed
America with His
love, His
protection and
His
comfort.
God has given us
the strength to
carry on, and He
has sent His
light from
above.

"America The Beautiful"
Arranged and performed by Elvis Presley
"America
The
Beautiful"
Oh beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above thy fruited plain.
America, America
God shed His grace on thee
And crowned thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.
Oh beautiful,
for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple
mountain majesties
Above the fruited
plain.
America,
America
God shed His grace
on thee
And He crowned thy good, with brotherhood
From sea to shining
sea.
America, America
God shed His grace on thee
And crowned thy good with brotherhood
From sea to
shining sea.
America!
