Carpenter Elementary School, the Annual Orchestra Concert, and Leila had been chosen to perform an eight bar violin solo for the invited grandmas, grandpas, moms, dads, aunts, uncles and elected local officials. She had diligently practiced her small part for weeks but still, as she and the other orchestra students waited back stage, she was filled with a feeling of impending doom and a major case of stage fright. At that moment she turned her head and saw the wondrous magic parade of carriages, filled with concert orchestra musicians playing the same eight bars that she had labored so long to perfect. When she heard their beautiful sounds she knew that her solo performance was going to be fine. She had found her inspiration and her Grandma would be very proud.

Inspired by music, inspired by love
Inspired by prayers to God above
Beautiful sunsets illuminating the sky
The welcoming sound of a newborn's cry.

Inspirations abound everyday in our world. We can be inspired by something so simple as a smile from a stranger or a fleeting moment as we watch a small butterfly fly gracefully through the air.

A Daddy's cheer from the bleachers high
As his young son hits a ball on the fly
A young man's thrill as he shares his first kiss
With a shy and smiling beautiful young miss.

A touching song with words that ring true
A beautiful rose still wet from the dew
A soft melody and flickering candlelight
A shooting star in the dark of the night

Each of these experiences can strike an inspiring moment; perhaps to write a poem, paint a picture or make changes in our life.  We can be inspired to call a friend, tell someone we love them, or resolve "to do better".

A colored rainbow without an end
An e-mail message from a close friend.
Grandma's hug when we are feeling blue
Or a kiss from Mom whispering, "I love you"

A warbling tune from an orange meadowlark
An orchestra performing a concert in the park
All are inspirations to soothe and console
While touching our heart and nurturing our soul.

This page with the beautiful graphics by Star*Shine was inspired by, made for, and dedicated to Lori, a young lady who plays violin in an orchestra which won two 1st place trophies in a recent concert in the park.  I am so proud of you, Lori.
