He walks in the room of his princess
And he kissed her goodnight
And he brushed back her hair and whispers,
"Daddy will be all right."

He walks in the room
And there sleeping is his little man
"You're the head of the house while I'm gone, son
Now I know you can."

Then he walks in his bedroom
And kisses his wife goodbye
When they hug it's like a scene
From a movie frozen in time

So here's to the heroes
Raise just one more glass
May the angels protect them
Till they come home at last

We owe our freedom, both present and past
So here's to the heroes
Raise just one more glass

How do they do what they do, I just don't know
Could you sacrifice it all if you had to go?

So the next time that you say a prayer
Say one for them too
Cause they're out there protecting us all
And the red, white and blue

So here's to the heroes
Raise just one more glass
May the angels protect them
Till they come home at last

We owe our freedom, both present and past
So here's to the heroes
Raise just one more glass

God bless the heroes that they have heard their call
It's like they said, all gave some, but some gave all

So the next time that you say a prayer
Say one for them too
Cause they're out there protecting us all
And the red, white and blue

God bless the heroes, raise just one more glass
May the angels protect them
Till they come home at last

We owe our freedom, to both present and past
So God bless the heroes till they come home at last

The 3rd Saturday in May is observed as Armed Forces Day.  President Harry S. Truman proclaimed the holiday on February 20, 1950.  The day was created to consolidate and honor all military services in the Department of Defense; the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

This is a special day when we can salute and thank all the men and women in all branches of the service who have protected, and those who are currently protecting our country and the red, white and blue. They are our heroes, and we owe them our freedom, both present and past.

God bless our Heroes!
