"Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good 'ole days
Sometimes it feels like this world's gone crazy.
Grandpa, take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
Didn't seem so hazy."

"Did lovers really fall in love to stay?
And stand beside each other come what may
Was a promise really something people kept?
Not just something they would say and forget."

"Did families really bow their heads to pray?
Did daddies really never go away?
Oh, Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good 'ole days.
Grandpa, everything is changing fast
We call it progress, but I just don't know
And Grandpa, Let's wander back into the past
And paint me the picture of long ago.
Oh, Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good 'ole days."
The "days of old" may not have been perfect, but maybe, just maybe, in our
fast-moving, ever-changing world
we left behind some of the more valuable attributes of those days; such as
family commitment, loyalty, dedication, determination and prayer.
If you have ever seen an elderly couple, a man and
woman celebrating their 50 plus wedding anniversary, walking hand in hand through the park,
you know they carried those values throughout their lives, and will until the day they die.
What a beautiful sight!
