When the roaring river becomes rough
Causing the waters to wildly flow
The distance between the two banks
Begins taking it's angry toll.

Words become perilous weapons
Carelessly hurled back and forth
Armored defenses begin to appear
Protecting pride and own self-worth.

As the river's flow becomes wider
With the waters cascading by
The hurt and pain is carried along
Hidden somewhere deep inside.

This tragedy often happen
Between families and their kin
Parents, siblings and children
Lovers and life-long friends.

But a little hard work; letting go of false pride
And with a special tool called love
You can start building a bridge to cover the gap
Across the river and high up above.
