It was a brand new day, the sun was bright
Sending warming rays across the sky
A day to behold, a day of wonder
And the day Jessica Lynn opened her eyes.

After months of dark and warming care
Nourished with life and sheltered from harm
Jessica Lynn opened her eyes and was laid
Into her mommy’s eager and waiting arms.

She saw daddy’s warm and smiling face
Looking down with affection and pride
She felt the strength of his tender touch
And saw devoted love within his eyes.

Then Jessica Lynn saw a little girl
And felt the warmth of a sister’s love
She knew this unique sisterly bond
Was a special gift from God above.

Jessica Lynn closed her eyes once again
As she felt new arms holding her safe
And when she opened her eyes once more
She saw big brother’s tender loving face.

And there she saw a protecting love
Of devoted care and shelter from harm
A promise to watch over and always provide
The safety of a big brother’s arms.
