I have a little story I would like to share
It started out small but became a nightmare
It's a story of passion; a story of crime
So take heed and listen if you have the time.

One day I was cleaning near the kitchen sink
When I saw a little ant as black as ink.
 I whisked him into the sink; turned the water on
Watched the water drain and then he was gone.

When I came home from work the very next day
There were several more ants scurrying on their way
I reached for the spray can; poison it said
And I sprayed them all until they were dead.

I knew right then I had a problem on my hands
So I had to undertake the ultimate plan
I sprayed around the sink and the area below
I had to stop them in their tracks before they overflow.

Well I went to bed very secure in my plot
But little did I know they hid beneath the coffeepot
The next morning I awoke to see a long trail
And I knew right then my plan had failed.

So I went to the store to buy those little traps
And I set them out to entice the little chaps
"Eat and be merry; take some home to the rest
Feed all your friends back in the nest."

Well, apparently they didn't like the choice of food
For they wouldn't accept my gift of gratitude
They detoured their trail around the little traps
So my best made plan had failed and collapsed.

And now this little tribe has left me no choice
It's a one on one battle and they have heard my voice
It's them or me; I will not give up the fight
I'll be on guard if I have to stay up all night.

I will get each one before they reproduce
A helpless little creature is no excuse.
They have invaded my territory; this is my domain
They will die one by one until not one remains.

So this is my story; beware and please observe
If you see a single ant, know that he is living in a herd
Don't let him get away, hunt him down until he is gone
For in the Battle of the Ants you're at war
From dusk to dawn!
