Hi!
My name is Marilyn a/k/a StinaLisa
I have lived in the state of Washington since 1987, but was originally born and raised in South Dakota,
which I still call "home." I am a product of the 40's, grew up in the 50's, and was married and a young mother by the 60's.
This is how I found myself with a Home on the Web:
I
decided one day to check it all out
This thing called the "internet"
A ‘puter, modem and telephone line
Was all the things I needed to get.
I
set it all up and made the call
To hook me up on the big “online”
I looked around and did a search
Of all the things I could find.
Discovered I could shop and read the news
Listen to music called a midi file
And then one day I happened across
A personal web site that made me smile.
 
I searched some more; they call them Url’s
And found some stories and poetry and more
So decided to build a home on the web
And invite everyone through the door.
The first thing to do was write a little
poem
For my sister, who is my best friend
Then some kitties that dance to a midi song
And from there is just didn’t end.
I added a coffeepot
to my home on the web
And was surprised by all who stopped in
I’ve made many new friends, both near and far
Who have made me laugh and smile and grin.
What more can I say about my home on the
web
From this experiences I would never have guessed
The joys I’ve received, the treasures I’ve gained
And for all this I’ve truly been blessed.
I have written, in one way or another,
about
most of my life, and since January of 1999,
learned how to make web pages in which I have included much of my poetry and prose,
mainly about life experiences (mine and other's), situations - some good, some not-so-good, causes I believe in,
realities
of
life, and a few . . . well, maybe a lot . . . of my "soapbox"
opinions.
I have a large immediate and extended family,
and have honored and shared my love and thoughts
about some of them on my web pages.
I am retired and stay very busy with all my many projects, including my
website. I also keep busy washing all the coffee cups left by all the visitors to my homepage.
Since many of you have asked, I would like to explain how I
came about the screen name of "StinaLisa". My grandfather, born in Sweden, often called the little girls
in the family "stinalisa" . . . such as "my little stinalisa" . . . which according to him was a term of endearment.
When I first signed up to the internet,
I thought the name "Stinalisa" would be an appropriate
screen name since I hadn't heard it in a long time, thus, the name . . .
